About Us Page

In January 2000, we brought back over 1000 pages of copied articles from the Archives of the Unity School of Practical Christianity at Unity Village, KS, a suburb of Kansas City. We are in the process of transcribing the articles back into electronic form for posting on the worldwide web. This material covers thirty years of mostly weekly articles on vegetarianism, much of which has not been widely available to the general public. This material covers the years from approximately 1903 to 1931. Enjoy what we have already transcribed and come back often to see what we have accomplished since your last visit.

Since July 2003, we are focusing our efforts on posting the scanned images of the articles instead of the exact HTML images. This involves much less work and results in the articles being published to the web quicker..

Since September 2008, we are in the process of updating the technical aspects of the website to full support of CSS style sheets. This means you will able to print actual copies of the reprints without the skin of the website. The reprint will be bordered by a thin green line. Also the article content codes now popup in a CSS window above the article index instead of taking you to a new page. We hope these new features make your visit to our site easier and more enjoyable.

October 25, 2011 marks the 100th Anniversary of the introduction of The Vegetarian column in Weekly Unity. In order to celebrate this event, we are trying to put up a new reprint every day between now and then. If we achieve this goal, we will have posted every article we brought back from the Unity Archives in 2000. This will be the culmination of an eleven year dream and a labor of love.
